2012 was less then impressive for the Milwaukee Brewers, finishing with a record of 83-79 missing the post season.
The team was very optimistic about spring training and the upcoming season, but they might have to contain their excitement for a while. The team’s first baseman, Mat Gamel, hurt his ACL again on the first day of spring training and will be out for the entire season after already missing five months of their 2012 season. Now the team is looking for some prospects to replace Gamel for the time being.
Players like Carlos Gomez and Alex Gonzalez have been resigned and a few young faces from the minor leagues have been invited for spring training.
The team and its owners are willing to be flexible with contracts and are trying to build the best defensive and offensive team possible.
