Going back to work after surgery is a slow and gradual process that many athletes have to go through. Braves catcher Brian McCann is no exception.
McCann will not be playing a game before April 16, confirmed general manager Frank Wren. This means McCann will be out for six months due to his surgery.
After being out of the game for that long, it’s going to be hard for McCann to get back into the swing of things.
“It’s good to get back, but trying to catch up to where you were was hard and that was what made it so difficult,” said Michele Brossard, a Braves fan, on how hard it was to get back to work after having her surgery.
“It wasn’t easy. It was a gradual process and it wore me out,” said Brossard. The same is going to be said for McCann when he finally returns. He’s going to have to take it easy and he won’t be in the same shape as he was before his surgery.
