The Miami had the luck of the Irish with them on Sunday, as they beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-0 for a big St. Patrick’s Day win.
The team welcomed Giancarlo Stanton back from the World Baseball Classic, and pitcher Ricky Nolasco got back on track after his abysmal game on Tuesday against Houston, where he gave up 7 runs and 8 hits in three innings.
Nolasco struck out five hitters and did not walk a batter. Manager Mike Redmond was happy with Nolasco’s change in direction.
“It was nice to see Ricky bounce back like that today. That’s what veteran pitchers do,” Redmond said to the Associated Press. “He pitched with a little bit of adrenaline out there.”
Hopefully this win wasn’t just luck, and Nolasco can pitch like he did Sunday in the regular season.
