A Texas grand jury recently decided felony sexual assault charges are not going to be pressed on Darius McClinton-Hunter, Torii Hunter’s son, due to a lack of evidence, according to the The Los Angeles Times. ESPN said Hunter’s son, was arrested in May, as well as four others and accused of sexual assault.
Torii Hunter, one of the newest members of the Detroit Tigers, has had a a huge weight lifted.
McClinton-Hunter was “elated,” said attorney Todd Shapiro. “He knew from the very day that he was arrested that he didn’t commit any crime.”
McClinton-Hunter, 18, a Prosper High School football player from Prosper, Texas, was being recruited to play football by several colleges previous to the arrest, according to USA Today.
“This was the ultimate test for my family for the last nine months,” said Torii Hunter. Hunter also said his son will learn from this and he will do everything he can to clear his name.
