“I wasn’t even intimidated, to be honest.” And Brendan Ryan was not referring to baseball.
Last Tuesday, the Mariners annual television commercial was shot at Peoria Stadium. Starring in the shoot with Ryan were teammates Tom Wilhelmsen and Jesus Montero and a somewhat large buffalo named Harvey.
“He had friendly eyes, you know? So we had a connection. There was an understanding,” Ryan said in an article on the Mariners’ web page.
The shortstop did exactly what he was told to do, even if it involved fielding ground balls near the buffalo. The commercial took nearly two hours to film.
The official Twitter of the Seattle Mariners tweeted a picture of Ryan and Harvey, captioning it “#Mariners commercial. #enough said.” The tweet got a good amount of likes and favorites.
The commercial is expected to be funny, but there is not much known about it other than that thus far.
“I will say it didn’t make the most sense, but maybe that’s the joke of it, I don’t know,” stated Ryan.
The commercial is not expected to air until mid-March.
