Carlos Baerga and John Hart will be inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame on June 22.
Hart, the Tribe’s general manager from 1991 to 2001, expressed his gratitude in an article on espn.go.com.
“I’m not really an emotional guy, but when I received the call I have to admit that my eyes misted,” Hart said. “It means a lot. It really, really does.”
And Baerga, a former second baseman for the Indians, shared his gratefulness.
“It was special what we had, especially in our ballpark,” said Baerga, who was with the Tribe from December 1989 to July 1996, in an article on cleveland.indians.mlb.com. “Every time we stepped on the field, we thought we would win. And it wasn’t just the nine starting players. Our bench was unbelievable. It’s something that everybody got together and we played hard every day.”
During Hart’s management, the Indians competed in two World Series (1995 and 1997).
