Houston Astros’ outfielder Fernando Martinez was one of five players connected to a Biogenesis of America clinic in South Florida, according to an ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” report on Tuesday.
Martinez’s name was found on documents listed as having received performance-enhancing drugs. According to ESPN, the documents listed Martinez next to an amount of $2,000 and the months February and March. The year is unknown.
According to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, the Astros had no comment on Tuesday and Martinez issued a no-comment through a team spokesman Wednesday morning. As of Wednesday Martinez was participating in practice.
