After a not so good season for the Red Sox finishing with a 69-93 record. They also finished last place in the American League East and third worst team in the American League. Last season was the first losing season since 1997 for the Sox.
The team plans on making changes for the new season. They have hired John Farrell as the next manager for the team with a three-year deal, along with Kevin Gregg replacing Pam Kenn as director of media relations and Pam Kenn was promoted to senior director of public affairs.
David Ortiz, the designated hitter feels ready and plans on returning this season despite not being fully recovered from the injury he received back in July.
